Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy for the Journal of Education Psychometric and Bibliometric Studies (JEPSY)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
The Journal of Education Psychometric and Bibliometric Studies (JEPSY) acknowledges the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research, writing, and academic publishing. While AI-based tools can enhance scholarly work, the journal emphasizes that originality, critical thinking, and human judgment must remain central to all research outputs. This policy outlines the responsible and ethical use of AI by authors, reviewers, and editors.
1. Responsible Use of AI by Authors
- Authors may use AI tools for limited tasks such as language editing, grammar correction, data visualization, or formatting.
- Any AI-generated content (text, images, or analytical output) must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript for example, in the Acknowledgment or Methodology section.
- The main conceptual, analytical, and interpretive contributions must be made by the authors themselves.
- AI tools cannot be listed as co-authors, as they cannot assume accountability for the work.
2. AI in Research and Data Interpretation
- If AI models or software are used in data collection or analysis, authors must specify the tools, their versions, and methods used.
- AI-generated data or results must be validated through human oversight to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- AI should never be used to distort, fabricate, or misrepresent research outcomes.
3. Ethical and Transparent Practices
- AI tools must not be used to create or alter data, citations, or references in a deceptive manner.
- All AI-assisted contributions must align with the journal’s ethical standards, intellectual property norms, and plagiarism policy.
- Failure to disclose AI involvement may result in rejection or retraction of the manuscript.
4. AI in Editorial and Peer Review Processes
- The journal does not use AI for decision-making during peer review or editorial evaluations.
- AI tools may be used under editorial supervision for plagiarism detection, language support, or metadata organization.
- Editors and reviewers should ensure that AI-generated content in submissions is clearly identified and ethically compliant.
5. Accountability and Compliance
- Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of their manuscripts, including AI-assisted content.
- By submitting to this journal, authors agree to uphold the standards of transparency and responsible AI use in all stages of publication.
This policy reflects the journal’s commitment to promoting integrity, transparency, and ethical innovation in academic publishing.
